Rebranding

When I started out as a writer, I used my real name. As time went on, it changed from my real name to AJ Kurtz (Angel Jaymes). Regardless of what's happened in my personal life, I've stuck with that name...even if it wasn't my last name anymore.

As I grew as an author, I began to have the urge to change my pen name, yet, I didn't. I held off and continued to write as AJ Kurtz. Maybe I was afraid to change my name because I thought nobody would recognize me or fear of what other people may have thought?

I eventually came to a point where I wasn't feeling like AJ Kurtz was me any longer. (I don't know how else I can explain, but this is as close to words as I can find.) Skylar Jaymes was the key to my freedom.

Most authors use multiple pen names so they can write under different genres, but that's not what's happening in my case. I simply wanted the FREEDOM to be whoever I wanted to be, as an author. With that said, that's why I've rebranded as Skylar Jaymes.

I won't be offended in any way if you still call me AJ. In fact, I'm quite used to being called that by this point.

I hope that you will continue to follow me and my writing journey!! If you would like to celebrate my rebranding party, then join me on Sunday 5th from 6-8 pm EST on my Facebook author page for games, Q&A, and a chance to win my upcoming book, Odyssey: Marked By Fate!
